 Butterfly flower pea tea

If you have dries butterfly pea flowers, i bought them from market.

  • Boil 1 cup of water in a saucepan and add 7 to 10 dried flowers.
  • Steep until the color of the water turns blue.
  • Strain the mixture and add sugar or honey for taste.
  • Can sever hot or cool

A dash of lemon added to the tea drastically changes the color from deep blue to purplish pink, apart from the taste.

 

Safety and precautions -Does it have any side effects

Excessive drinking is not recommended as some of its active ingredients could cause toxic effects in the long run. Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should avoid its consumption.
